One Thousand Museum: Zaha Hadid's Only US Residential Project
Downtown Miami's most architecturally significant address remains One Thousand Museum, Zaha Hadid's first and only residential tower in the Western Hemisphere, and one of her final projects. The building was the first in the US to use glass-fiber-reinforced concrete as permanent formwork, with 5,000 individual pieces shipped from Dubai for construction.
Only 83 residences occupy the tower, ranging from 4,600 to over 16,000 square feet. The crown-level 75-foot infinity pool draws directly from Hadid's design for the London Aquatics Center, and the building remains the only residential skyscraper in Miami with a private helipad.
How One Thousand Museum Fits Into Downtown Miami
Downtown Miami's skyline includes real scale at every tier, Paramount Miami Worldcenter's 569 residences and 6-acre amenity deck, 900 Biscayne's established 2008-era presence, and Aston Martin Residences' automotive design partnership. One Thousand Museum stands apart from all of them through architectural pedigree alone, with only 83 units against towers running into the hundreds, it remains Downtown Miami's scarcest address as much as its most distinctive.
